My father used to say in the dining table that we have to eat all the food we put on our plates because we are lucky that we have something to eat just think about those who don’t have anything.

Well, come to think about it according to the Food and Agriculture Organization the Prevalence of undernourishment in the Philippines alone is 16% of the total population o there are 13.3 millions Filipinos who are under nourish. (Source from the FAO hunger map ). There’s no statistics for Denmark and other Nordic countries maybe the number is negligible for them to include. Living in a rich or industrialize country like Denmark makes you think life is so unfair when people here worries about eating too much or not too balance diet while there are 25 million children die of hunger each year.

When I was new here and my hubby just throw the contents of his freezer whenever he read the dates are already 3- or 4 months old their expiry date I couldn’t believe my eyes. But now we see to that we only buy what we will use and now he learned not to throw left overs.

It’s not the westerners or even the privileged ones in the Philippines are insensitive but they are not aware of the hunger problem around the world. Denmark and it’s citizen are always prompt to help various efforts of Non profit organizations.

Helping by feeding or donating foods is good but only temporary. Hunger is brought by poverty which must be eradicated with the help of the governments and with the support of the non profit organizations like HEIFER International who together with Bloggersunite.org provides HOPE to stop the Hunger by providing communities with livestocks and agricultural training to improve lives.

I join this event by promoting Awareness Let’s UNITE by giving HOPE to HUNGER.

    I don’t know what to say, but I am also one of those who keep leftovers and end up throwing them. I know I couldn’t help feed the hunger by sending my food. What’s important is that the community is doing some charitable works to help the unprivileged. Giving HOPE is a good idea.

      @Marlene,
      Yes we can not help by giving them food or financial help because we’re not Bill Gates but giving them HOPE is the least we can do or supporting programs of any charitable organization.
